Canon’s new business projectors: high performance, cost efficient.

LV-7255
Amstelveen, The Netherlands, 21 February, 2006: Canon today announces the release of the LV-7255 and LV-7250 – two new Multimedia Projectors designed especially to suit business requirements. Both project crisp images, with native XGA resolution, and feature Canon 1.6x zoom lenses for high quality images and flexible projector placement. The LV-7255 provides a powerful 2500 lumens of brightness, while the LV-7250 provides 2000 lumens. New easy-to use control panel layout and graphical user interfaces, as well as rapid start-up and shut down times, make both projectors very convenient business devices. High contrast ratios of 600:1 deliver vivid colours, bright whites and true blacks.

The projectors feature:

  • Native XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels)
  • Powerful 2500 lumens (LV-7255) and 2000 lumens (LV-7250); 600:1 contrast ratio
  • Canon wide-angle 1.6x zoom lens for flexible placement and large images with short throw distances
  • Quick start (9 seconds) and Quick Cooling (30 seconds)
  • Very quiet operation – just 30dBA in Quiet Mode
  • Auto Vertical Keystone Correction, Screen Colour Correction

Both projectors are designed to offer high performance, cost efficient business projection, and replace the LV-7245 and LV-7240. With higher brightness, the LV-7255 sits above the LV-7250 in the range.

High quality presentations

The projectors use high quality XGA LCD panels to produce images with a native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels; using compression it is even possible to display images with UXGA resolution (1600 x 1200). Genuine Canon lenses provide superior image quality – two aspherical elements help to produce a vivid image, while counteracting the effects of distortion and aberration.

The LV-7255’s powerful 2500 lumens of brightness make the projector suitable for corporate applications – presentations will be clear even in large boardrooms or in brightly lit environments. The LV-7250 has 2000 lumens for bright meeting-room presentations without the need for drawing the blinds or dimming the lights.

Distracting fan noise will no longer disrupt presentations, since both projectors feature a Quiet Mode. The LV-7255 drops to 30dBA and the LV-7250 is a near-silent 29dBA.

Both projectors feature progressive scan, greatly reducing flicker and producing cleaner diagonal lines and text compared to projectors using interlaced scanning.

Highly flexible

With a very wide 1.6x zoom lens, both projectors have increased flexibility of placement: large images can be projected from very short throw distances. The LV-7255 is capable of projecting a 100” image from just 100” (2.5m) away, while the LV-7250 achieves this image size from a throw distance of 2.9m.

Featuring Automatic Vertical Keystone Correction, the projectors can easily be operated without trapezium distortion, even when not placed perpendicular to the screen. When presentations need to take place in rooms without a projection screen, Screen Colour Correction compensates for the background wall shade to ensure a natural colour scheme is displayed.

Designed for convenience

With new compact ergonomic designs, both projectors are conveniently lightweight and portable - the LV-7255 is 3.3kg and the LV-7250 is 3kg. Redesigned intuitive graphical user interfaces (supporting 21 languages) and control panels make the projectors easy to operate. New remote control handsets follow a logical, straightforward structure, and enable control of most projector functions, as well as the mouse cursor of a connected computer.

Reducing time wasted before and after use, both models are ready to project in just 9 seconds and ready to pack away 30 seconds after shutting down.

Economical investment

In additional to offering exceptional quality at an economical price, both projectors are cost efficient to run, with a long lamp life of 3000 hours in Quiet Mode.
