BenQ

Value Performer Offers More for Far Less

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, November 3, 2008
  - BenQ announced today the launch of their Mainstream Series MP523 projector geared towards the everyday projection needs of K-12 education, SMB multi-user application, and crossover home-office use.  Bold, vivid picture quality ideal for average size rooms are backed by all-digital DLP® and BrilliantColor™ technologies, a substantial 2000:1 contrast ratio, and a bright 2000 ANSI lumens.  High durability, a mobile size, and a generous 4000-hour lamp life (economy mode) easily adapt the MP523 to high-traffic, high-use settings.

Vividly Versatile
The MP523, with popular XGA native resolution, makes a perfect presentation partner for a variety of applications.  A 30”-300” image size plus 3.6”-39.6” throw distance makes the MP523 a superb choice for elementary and middle school classrooms, home offices, and small meeting rooms.  Classroom charts and graphs are rendered in rich, vivid color with Texas Instruments® BrilliantColor™ technology.  By boosting brightness up to 50% and amplifying mid-tone hues, BrilliantColor™ also makes the MP523 a suitable choice for crossover use, such as for photo-viewing and movies.  SMB’s will also find the MP523 to be a practical projector, displaying text-rich presentations in clean definition courtesy of the 1600:1 contrast ratio and all-digital DLP® technology.|

The MP523 is also engineered with smart features to meet multi-user demands.  Numerous preset modes enable one-touch optimization for various user scenarios:  PC Input offers PC, Movie, sRGB, White Board, Black Board, Green Board, and customized User modes; A/V Input offers PC, Movie, sRGB, and User modes.  Wall Color Correction – with color adjustments for three wall colors – further facilitates multi-room use.  And at 5.3 pounds (2.4kg), the MP523 is easily portable between offices or between classrooms for sharing.

Reliable and Ready to Go
The entry-level MP523 likewise impresses with low-maintenance and easy setup-and-go features, all for a lot less than comparable models.  A class-leading 4000-hour lamp life (economy mode) plus intelligent lamp care and filter-free design ensures minimal maintenance and costs.  Anti-dust DLP® technology additionally makes the MP523 extremely durable in high-traffic, high-dust environments like classrooms and offices.  Outstanding cost/performance is also enhanced by Auto-Off (power-saving) capability.  Audiences won’t be kept waiting as presentations get up and running fast with Auto Source Search, Resolution Reminder, integrated speaker, full-function remote, preset modes, and ±35º 1D Keystone.  Additional specifications for accommodating the needs of multiple users include 1.10:1 manual zoom, 4:3 native aspect ratio with 16:9 selectable, and HDTV 1080i compatibility.  Essential connectivity includes Component, Composite, S-Video, Analog RGB, Stereo mini-jack, and RS232.  A Standby D-Sub Output offers added convenience by enabling a monitor that is connected to the projector to still be operable even when the projector is off. The MP523 offers many superior specs compared to competitor models costing hundreds more.
