New entry level model delivers Hitachi quality to cost conscious buyers

Hitachi Digital Media Group today announced the launch of the CP-RX80 entry level LCD projector. Built to the demanding standards that have established the company’s enviable reputation for quality, this versatile new model will appeal to buyers in industry and education searching for value for money and no frills performance in any environment.

“The new CP-RX80 is a multi purpose, entry level LCD projector built on the foundations of Hitachi quality in terms of design, manufacture and displayed image. With reliability and performance built in for day to day operation in a wide variety of settings, this versatile model delivers all the essential features that users have come to expect,” commented Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. “By offering excellent value for money in an entry level package, this new model ticks all the boxes for the current market conditions where buyers are seeking more for less.”

With bright, 8-bit colour XGA images projected at 2200 lumens in normal mode and a contrast ratio of 500:1, the CP-RX80 delivers in terms of everyday performance. The manual focus, manual 1.2 times zoom displays images of 30 to 300” (0.76m to 7.62m) and a 60” (1.52m) screen from just 1.7m. When used in eco mode, which reduces brightness to 1500 lumens, lamp life is up to 6000 hours and when the lamp eventually does need changing easy access is provided through the lamp door conveniently positioned on the top of the projector. In addition to these optical characteristics, picture quality is assured as a result of Hitachi’s equalizing gamma correction, 2-3 pull down, progressive scan and noise reduction features.

Low noise levels of just 29dB in whisper mode ensure that the CP-RX80 will be unobtrusive in any presentation environment as will the compact physical dimensions of the 317mm(w) x 98mm(h) x 288(d)mm, 3.2kg chassis. All common connectivity options are catered for with computers linked via 15-pin mini D-sub for input and output respectively. Video input is provided through either an RCA or an S-video jack, while audio in and out are both via stereo mini jacks.

The CP-RX80 also benefits from a host of usability features popular across the Hitachi range. These include input source naming where users can name input sources such as TV or DVD instead of defaults such as RGB1 or S-video, and the My Button that provides the facility for customisable buttons on the remote control. Blackboard and whiteboard modes, particularly when used with the new template function that provides writing guides, are other features that along with quick on and instant off, resolution presets and the daytime mode that facilitate simple and convenient day to day operations.

Hitachi projectors are also renowned for the highest levels of security protection and the CP-RX80 is no exception. The new model includes a PIN lock, a My Screen PIN lock, a keypad lock, a Kensington lock, a My Text lock, a steel security bar and a tamper proof serial number label on the side which together provide a layered security approach to reduce theft risks.
